At [Company Name], we are expanding our Healthcare Coding & Auditing team and looking for a highly skilled Surgery Coding Specialist at the Associate Manager (AM) level. If you have deep expertise in medical coding, especially complex surgery cases, and want to contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role is for you.
Position Overview
As an Associate Manager – Surgery Coding, you will be responsible for coding accuracy, auditing, and ensuring compliance across Outpatient, Professional Fee, APC, and ASC surgery coding. This is an Independent Contributor (IC) role, ideal for professionals with hands-on coding expertise who want to make a strategic impact.
Requirements (AM-B1 Level)
✔️ 7+ years of experience in Surgery Coding (Outpatient, Prof, APC, ASC)
✔️ CPC, COC, or other AAPC/AHIMA coding certification (mandatory)
✔️ Medical Coding and Auditing experience
✔️ SME-level knowledge of complex surgeries
✔️ Preferred: Radiation Oncology coding/auditing experience
✔️ Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills
✔️ Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet-based tools
✔️ Strategic management and training skills
Key Responsibilities
- Apply coding and clinical expertise in Surgery, Outpatient, and APC cases.
- Conduct audits and provide insights for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate on automation solutions for medical data recognition & extraction.
- Research and resolve coding issues in real-time.
- Benchmark performance and ensure adherence to coding guidelines.
- Respond promptly to stakeholders and management.
- Stay updated with the latest Surgery coding regulations and practices.
- Mentor and support peers with SME knowledge.
